The present membership of CAISTC includes 248 member organizations and 157 individual members.
The Statutes of the association stipulates the following:
(1) Criteria for Applicants
Accepting the Statutes of the association;
Having the will to join the association voluntarily;
Being either an organization or an individual engaged in foreign affairs related
to international science and technology cooperation or associated activities.
(2) Application Procedures
The applicant should submit an application to the association. In case of an individual application, a letter of recommendation is required from a member of the Council of the association;
Applications shall be reviewed by the Standing Committee of the Council or by the Executive Office of the association that is authorized by the Standing Committee. And they will then be sent to the members of the Standing Committee in charge of the daily operation of the association ¨C the President, or the Vice Presidents, or the Secretary-General -- for approval;
The Executive Office with the authorization of the Standing Committee shall issue a certificate of membership and a notice of acceptance;
The payment of the first annual membership dues shall constitute formal recognition of the membership.
(3) Rights of the Members
To elect or be elected and to vote;
To enjoy the privilege of participating in activities organized by the association;
To enjoy the privilege of getting access to the services provided by the association;
To comment and make suggestions on the performance and the work of the association;
(4) Obligations of the Members
To implement the decisions of the association;
To maintain the lawful rights and interests of the association;;
To fulfill the tasks assigned by the association;
To provide information and materials which are of relevance to the association;
To pay membership dues as required by the regulations concerned;
(5) Withdrawal from the Association
Withdrawal from the association can be done on a voluntary basis;
Submit a written application for withdrawal and return the membership certificate;
Any member who fails to pay the membership dues or to participate in the associationĄ¯s activities without justified reasons for 3 successive years are considered as having given up membership automatically.
(6) Removal from the AssociationĄ¯s Rolls
Members who have seriously violated the Statutes of the association shall be removed from the association, subject to the approval of the Standing Committee of the Council.
